Zora M Hawkins

Zora M. (Sumpter) Hawkins, 98 of Bonne Terre passed away May 13, 2011 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1912 in Wayne County. She was a past member of the Bonne Terre Church of Christ.She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Daisy (Haire) Sumpter; husband, Howard Franklin Hawkins; two daughters, Maxine Hawkins and Peggy Guidorzi; three sons, Jackie Hawkins, James Hawkins and Howard D. Hawkins; three brothers, James, Don and Byron Sumpter; sister, Mildred Beeman.Zora is survived by four children, Doris Foster of NC, Sue Puder of St. Louis, Frank Hawkins and wife Stella of Bonne Terre, Beverly Finley of Springfield; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; one special friend and granddaughter, Marti.Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 10 AM until Noon at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be Saturday at Noon at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joe Manor and Mineral Area Regional Medical Center for their care of Zora during her final days.
