William Mathue Whitaker, Jr.

William “Willie” Whitaker, Jr. age 70, of Iron Mountain Lake passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 20, 1946 to the late William Mathue Whitaker, Sr. and Melba (Butts) Whitaker in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Willie proudly served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed classic cars, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his son, Robert Whitaker; brother, James R. Whitaker; and sisters, Alice F. Henson and Eula M. Deak.

Willie is survived by his wife Brenda (Waeltz) Whitaker; children, Mathew Whitaker of Germany, Mark Whitaker and wife Patty of Farmington, Tonia Whitaker-Cooper of Farmington, David Waeltz of Park Hills, George Lindsey of Iron Mountain Lake, and Clyde Lindsey and wife Hayley of Park Hills; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother Joe Whitaker.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre from 4pm to 8 pm. Visitation will resume at 10am at Iron Mountain Assembly of God Church. Services will begin at 1pm with Pastor Matt Prihoda officiating. Interment will follow at Herod Cemetery in Desloge with full military honors.
