William E. Compton Sr.

William E. "Bill" Compton Sr. age 84, of Desloge, Missouri passed away January 27, 2011 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, MO. He was born June 6, 1926 in Desloge, Missouri.Bill was a member of the Desloge United Methodist Church; lifetime member of the Desloge VFW Post 2426; and had served in the U.S. Army in the 71st Infantry active in the European ??African Theatre and in Germany.He was preceded by his parents, Clarence Bert and Levia J. (Beers) Compton; brother, Clarence Bert Compton Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Compton and Bernette Miller.Bill is survived by his wife, Maxine (Politte) Compton of Desloge; one son, William E. Compton, Jr. and wife Kathey of Bonne Terre; three grandchildren, Will Compton III, Cody Compton, and Wyatt Compton; and brother Robert L. Compton of Desloge; also a number of nieces and nephews.Visitation is 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2011 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Services are 11:00 AM Saturday, January 29, 2011 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge. Burial is in Parkview Cemetery.
