William "Bill" Copeland

William "Bill" Copeland

Bill Copeland, 80, of Bonne Terre, passed away December 25, 2016 at his residence.  He was born November 2, 1936, in Gladden, Missouri, to the late Cyrus and Birtia (Cavender) Copeland. Bill was a member of the Ionic Masonic Lodge in Desloge. He was a local contractor with Mid State Mechanical Contractors and the current business owner of Shamrock Restaurant. His contributions to the community have helped many projects including spearheading the development of Brightwell Park. He loved his family, quail hunting, golf and he enjoyed training his bird dogs, Duke and Brandy.

 

            In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanna Copeland Girrad; son-in-law, Denny AuBuchon; brothers, Edwin “Dag” Copeland, Leroy Copeland, Clyde Copeland, and in infancy Charles Copeland.

 

            Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barb Copeland; children, William and wife Elena Copeland, Christopher Copeland, Karen and husband Bob Hargrove, Teresa Aubuchon, Freddy and wife Peggy Lunsford, Billy David Ragsdale, Brooke and husband David Lapusan; Twelve grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, April, Justin, Jessica, Bradley, Brandon, Cameron, Maci, Kylie, Kristian, and Kaedence; and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Sue (Stanton) LaPlant and Mary Lee Mounce; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

            Visitation will be held Wednesday December 28, 2016 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral service will be 11 am on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Rev. Larry Allison officiating.  Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
