Willard Medford Rider

Willard Rider, 86, of Festus, passed away October 22, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 23, 1928 in Desloge, to the late Rev. John and Mattie Lucinda (Jones) Rider. Willard was a member of Desloge First Church of God. He was retired from Chrysler and loved hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Virginia (Ragsdale) Rider; three brothers, Harry Dale, Paul and John Rider; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Shepherd; and one sister-in-law Mildred Rider. Willard is survived by two sons, Denny Rider and wife Sue of High Ridge, Lynn Rider and wife Debby of Barnhart; two daughters, Cindy Lang and husband Brian of Crystal City, Susan Sadler and husband Scott of Pevely; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Thedford Rider of DeSoto; one sister, Norma Jean McFarland and husband Ralph of Festus; and one sister-in-law, Dona Rider of Cape Girardeau. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Monday, October 26, 2015 at Desloge First Church of God from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Pastor David AuBuchon will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Jim Muse.
