Walter Phillip Klinkhardt passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Farmington Presbyterian Manor at the age of 93 years, 7 months & 6 days. Walt was born April 9, 1920, in DuQuoin, IL, & was the son of Theodore Klinkhardt & Louise "Lulu" (Hehner) Klinkhardt. Also preceding-in-death were: his wife, Clara Elizabeth 'Litzler' Klinkhardt (2008); a sister, Louise (Francis) Smalley; a brother, Joseph (Irene) Klinkhardt and a brother-in-law, J. C. "Toby" Gallaher.

Walt was: * a Sophmore at Caruthersville, MO., High School and on a 'Seed Identification Team' that won 1st Place in State Competition; * a Agricultural Student at Caruthersville High School and won 'The Outstanding National Award of "American Farmer" from the Future Farmers of America; * He was one of 3 Southeast Missouri youth to ever obtain this award; * a longtime, faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Farmington; * A Missouri Conservation Agent for 29 years; * member of the Bowling League & Bowling League Secretary for numerous years; * member, National Rifle Assoc. (NRA) & received the National Pioneer Award for Hunter Safety; * member, American Legion, VFW and the 4-H; * member, Farmington Auxiliary Police; * member, Missouri Peace Officers Assoc. * member, Knights-of-Columbus @ St. Joseph Catholic Church. Walt was a World War II US Army Vet., serving as a Medical Technician in the Asian Pacific and as a Pilot of a Higgins Boat. Walt certified many area residents in Hunter Education & owned "Walt's Fix-It Shop" for 30+ years, repairing small engines.

Survivors Include: a daughter, Mary Lou (& Elroy) Brady, Jr., of Farmington; 2 sons: Walter Phillip (& Pam) Klinkhardt, Jr., of Grandview, MO; James Joseph (& Jane Goggins) Klinkhardt, of Farmington. A sister, Teresa Gallaher, of Caruthersville, MO; 9 grandchildren: John G. Brady; J. Chris (& Kim) Brady; Alexandra (& Craig) Klinkhardt-Goldensoph; Sgt. 1st Class Olivia Klinkhardt; Phillip Devlin "Toby" Klinkhardt (and Michelle Wolfe); Capt. Tessa Klinkhardt, M.D. (& Tyler Ball); Grace Klinkhardt; J. Matthew (& Julie) Klinkhardt and Brandon Klinkhardt. Also, 4 great-grandchildren: Sloane Mallory Brady; Sullivan Tay Brady; Johnathan A. Klinkhardt and Madison E. Klinkhardt.

Visitation : Monday, 5-8 p.m. with a ROSARY @ 7:00 p.m. Visitation Resumes, Tuesday, 6:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Funeral Mass : Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., November 19, 2013,

at : St. Joseph Catholic Church, Farmington, with Fr. Rickey Valleroy officiating
