W. E. "Gene" Powers

Mr. W. E. "Gene" Powers, of Farmington, passed away Sunday evening, June 3, 2012, at Barnes Hospital, in St. Louis, at the age of 84 years, 3 months & 27 days. Gene was born on February 6, 1928, in Black, Missouri, & was the son of Homer Powers & Allie G. 'Robinette' Powers. Also preceding-in-death were: his 1st wife, Shirley Mae 'Knight' Powers; his 2nd wife, Glenda B. 'Hatridge' Powers. 2 Sisters: Ruby Gregory & Thelma Walker; 2 Brothers: Ray Powers & Leon Powers.

Gene was a US ARMY Veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church of Doe Run.

Survivors Include : his 4 children - Dennis (& Kathy) Powers, of O'Fallon, MO; Kathy Oldsen, of Hazelwood, MO; Donna (& Joe) Roth, of St. Peters, MO; Edna (& Curtis) Stepanek, of Maryland Heights, MO. 4 Sisters: Lucille (& Doyle) Meatheany, of Lesterville, MO; Helen Akins, of Harrisburg, MO; Doris (& Doug) Martin, of Wentzville, MO; Marty (& Curt) Penny, of Troy, MO. 2 Brothers: Noel Powers, of Lesterville, MO; Donald Lee (& Veta Mae) Powers, of St. Louis. 8 Grandchildren: Adam Powers (& Becky); Abby Powers; Derek (& Rachel) Oldsen; Gina (& James) Womble; Nick (& Tanya) Roth; Brian (& Nicole) Roth; Tara Stepanek; Mark Stepanek (& fiance' Kelly). Also, 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation : Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. Visitation Resumes, Thursday @ 6:30 a.m.

Funeral : Thursday, 10:00 a.m., June 6, 2012,

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Keith Huffman officiating.

Interment : Rayfield Cemetery, Reynolds County, Missouri
