Virginia Mae (McCarty) Pinkston passed away Sunday,September 1, 2013 at her home in Bonne Terre, at the age of 90. She was bornOctober 25, 1922 in Bonne Terre, to the late Claude Cecil McCarty and Iva Belle(Morris) McCarty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd NormanPinkston.Mrs. Pinkston was a member of the Centenary UnitedMethodist Church and belonged to the Eastern Star. She graduated from the St.Louis City Hospital School of Nursing in 1944 and spent all of her working lifeas a nurse, finishing her career as the Assistant Director of Nursing at theBonne Terre Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Pinkston)Evans and husband, Bill of Terre Du Lac; son, R. Keith Pinkston and wifeKathleen of St. Louis; brother, Linn McCarty and wife Patricia of Farmington.She was the grandmother of two grandsons, Ryan Keith Pinkston and fiancStephanie Milch of St. Louis and Alec Philip Pinkston of Chicago. She was thevery proud great-grandmother of Ava Grace Pinkston of St. Louis, who herselfhas her great-grandmothers terrific blue eyes. Numerous nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and many friends also survive. A Memorial Service will be held at the Centenary UnitedMethodist Church in Bonne Terre on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM. Aprivate inurnment will follow the service.
