Mrs. Virginia A. Johnson passed away Thursday morning, March 8, 2012, in Farmington, at the age of 87 years, 7 months & 19 days. Virginia was born on July 19, 1924, in Desloge, and was the daughter of Oscar Ransom and Beatrice 'Weible' Ransom. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, James G. Johnson; 2 sons: Jimmy Dale Johnson & Thomas Walter Johnson; 3 sisters: Susie Barron; Wilma Pratte & Faye Telle. 1 granddaughter, Susan Hunsaker; 1 great-grandson, Chuck Pritchett and 1 great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Johnson.

Virginia was a retired Registered Nurse from Farmington Community Hospital and a longtime, faithful member of Farmington First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors Include: 5 children - Donna Sutton Davis, of Kansas City, MO; Judith Ann (& Bruce) Smith, of Yorktown, VA; Linda (& Larry) Knefelkamp, of Independence, MO; David (& Alice) Johnson, of Farmington; Barry (& Jeanne) Johnson, of Farmington. 4 sisters: Nina Kennon; Mary Kennon; Betty Smith and Doris Denison, all of Farmington. 1 brother: Robert (& Judy) Clayborne, of Farmington. Grandsons reared in the home: Christopher McKelvey, of Oklahoma and Jason (& Alicia) McKelvey, of Texas. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; and 3 great, great-grandchildren.

Visitation : Sunday, 2-8 p.m. Visitation resumes, Monday @ 6:30 a.m.

Funeral : Monday, 11:00 a.m., March 12, 2012

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Hugh Cerutti officiating.

Interment : St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Bonne Terre.

Memorials to : Mineral Area College Nursing Program.
