Virgil C. Reed

Virgil C. Reed, 74, of Park Hills, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Country Meadows. He was born Monday, October 30, 1939 in Elvins to the late Rev. Poney and Mapel (Womack) Reed. Also preceding him in death are brothers, Wesley Reed and Charles Reed. Virgil served the in the United States Army. He loved to garden, enjoyed time with his German Shepherd Holly, and his grandchildren were precious to him. Virgil is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Reed; daughter, Leann Reed; son, Tom Reed and wife Debra; grandchildren, David Reed, Andrew Reed, and Katie Reed; brothers, Roy Reed and wife Lela, Paul Reed and wife Anne, Harold Reed and wife Donna; sisters, Fern Jones, Christine Eaton, and Sharon Eaton and husband Ron; a host of nieces and nephews; and a dear friend Ed Pinson. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Caldwell Chapel with Rev. Darrell Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington with Full Military Honors.
