Viola M. Blackwell

Viola Mae Blackwell, 84, of Bonne Terre passed away February 8, 2018 at St. Joe Manor. She was born April 16, 1933 in Dixon, MO. Viola loved music and sang with the Lester Family in the early 50’s. She also enjoyed making dolls and was an accomplished milliner.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Hutson; mother and step-father, Blanche (Hand) Holtsman and Fred Holtsman; husband, Sylvester “Gene” Blackwell.

Viola is survived by her daughter, Kathy Rolens; three grandchildren, Tina Barks, Chris Perdue and wife Jannevive, Angela Zolman and husband Timothy; six great-grandchildren, Elijah and Lily Grace Zolman, Kelsey Barks, Kaitlyn Davis, Kristyn and Andrew Perdue.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Interment will follow at Big River Cemetery.
