Velma Schrum, 92, of Bonne Terre, passed away July 5, 2016 at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre. She was born March 24, 1925 in Flat River, to the late Herbert Vance and Alley (McNail) Vance-Owens. Velma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Desloge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 73 years, Milburn “Boxie” Schrum; three brothers, Joseph Vance, Jack Vance, and Leroy Vance; one sister, Wilma Pearl Pirtle; and one great-granddaughter, Shana LeBlanc.
Velma is survived by three daughters, Randy Feeney and husband Larry, Joyce Ames and husband William, and Tamarra Kay Smith all from Bismarck; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Schrum.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, July 7, 2017 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
