Tommy Hayes

           Tommy Hayes, 85, of Leadington, passed away June 4, 2019, at Camelot Nursing Center in Farmington. He was born March 12, 1934, in Deslet, MO to the late Clinton and Flossie (Smith) Hayes. Tommy was the owner of Tommy’s Gulf in Farmington for 21 years. He then worked for the St. Francois County Highway Department and after retiring, he enjoyed driving for SMTS until the age of 82. He loved bowling, college basketball, playing pool and the Cardinals. Tommy was a member of the New Beginnings Worship Centre and past song leader of Bethel Baptist Church.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dalena Wisdom, Eileen May, Roberta Smith, Willard, Wilburn and Lowell Hayes, Leon and Darrell Hayes in infancy.

            Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Charlotte (Myers) Hayes; daughter, Beverly Vanderheyden and husband John; sons, Kevin Jaco and wife Janet, Chris Jaco and wife Laura; grandchildren, Todd and Brian Jaco, Taylor (Kelly) Burch, and Drew Jaco; great-grandson, Tucker James Jaco; siblings, Bobby (Doris) Hayes, Betty (Dallas) Huffman, and Flossie Pogue; several nieces and nephews also survive.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, June 7, 2019, from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM. Pastor Tim Morgan and Pastor Sid Laxton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in Oates, MO. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
