Tom Daffron, 89 of Desloge, passed away August 8, 2014 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born October 8, 1924 in Flat River to the late Nile Thomas and Elva (Wampler) Daffron. Mr. Daffron served in the United States Army during WW II and participated in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe campaigns. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, five Bronze Stars, and one Silver Star. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Desloge, and a member of the VFW Post #5896 in Farmington. Tom was well known in the area as owner and operator for 35 years of Daffron's Auto Body Repair. He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Geneva (Emery) Daffron; brother John Daffron; sisters, Ida Mae Sikes and Willa Mae Barker. Mr. Daffron is survived by children, Tommy Ray (Bonnie) Daffron of Omaha, Arkansas, Sherry (Jim) Rowland of Cape Girardeau, Arlene (Don) Crouch of Carthage, and Cathy (Bill) Dickerson of Desloge; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, special nephew, J.L. Daffron; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday August 10, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral service will be 11 am Monday at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge with Rev. Bradford Laubinger officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
