Thresa Moore, 82, of Farmington, passed away April 13, 2024, at her home, surrounded by the ones she loved. She was born September 18, 1941, in Birch Tree, MO to the late Guy and Lettie (Pierce) Layman. Thresa was a current member of the Open Heart Assembly Church in Farmington. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, J.C. Moore on June 11, 1960.
She served alongside her husband in ministry for 41 years. Thirty-one of those years at the Gumbo Assembly of God, then another 10 years at the Irondale Assembly of God Church. She served her church through leadership, by leading the praise and worship team, teaching Sunday School and working with the youth. Thresa was a beautician for 40 plus years and in her spare time, enjoyed shopping, yard work, working in her flower gardens, but most of all, spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Megan Moore; siblings, Coya Layman, Beulah “Boots” Ledbetter, Katherine Cafourek, Herschel Layman, Norman Layman, Donald Layman and Scotty Layman.
Thresa was a loving wife to her husband, Pastor J.C. Moore for 63 years; supporting mother to Jay Moore and wife Deborah; doting grandmother to Mallory (Darin) Johnson, McKenna Moore, Mason Moore; five great-grandchildren, Presley, Cayden, Finn, Keith and Evelyn; sister, Margie, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son - Taylor Chapel in Farmington, Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume at 9:00 AM Friday, April 19, 2024, until service time of 12:00 PM. Pastor Ron Brand will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Open Heart Assembly Church in Farmington.
