Tammy Sue (Warner) Durbin, age 62, of Farmington, went to be with Jesus on April 25, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on May 24, 1961, in Heidelberg, Germany. Tammy was a founding member of The Bridge Community Church in Leadington where she currently held the position of office manager for the last 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” James Warner and Sylvia Virginia (Matthews) Warner-Finch; her loving husband of 44 years, Roger Durbin; sister-in-law, Beth Standley; and niece, Jennifer Warner.
Tammy was active in her church and her community. She served as Children’s Ministry Director at Memorial United Methodist Church in Farmington for many years, then with The Bridge Community Church from 2006-2021. She also served as a board member for over 20 years for the East Missouri Action Agency, St. Francois County Head Start Policy, and Project Sunlight.
Tammy was a talented singer and songwriter. She traveled and sang with The Durbins for 22 years and wrote many songs including, “One More Soul,” which was on the Southern Gospel music charts. Tammy was also the heart and soul behind Camp Elevate, which has served thousands of kids and teenagers since 2013.
Tammy is survived by her loving children, Andrea Pirtle and husband Rick, Rachel Inman and husband Micah, Ben Durbin and wife Becky, Seth Durbin and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Cassie and Jonas Pirtle, Nolan, Evan and Peyton Inman, Brylee, Halle, Erin and Cora Durbin, Addelynn, Ella, Lydia and Vivian Durbin; spouse of Sylvia, Larry Finch; siblings, Robert Warner and wife Donna, Wayne Warner and wife Christy, Barbara Standley and husband Richard, April Jones and husband Josh, Chris Finch and wife Cierra; nephews, Isaac Standley. Caleb Warner, and Owen Warner; niece, Tabitha Smith; several friends, a host of church family, and many “Bridge Kids.”
Tammy would often be found surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Tammy was a faithful servant of Christ. She devoted her life to serving God through ministry and her church and leaves a legacy of faith and love for Christ. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at The Bridge Community Church – 301 Lore Lane in Leadington, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 3:00 PM until the Celebration of Life at 6:30 PM. Memorials may be directed to The Bridge Community Church Building Fund. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
