Tamarra Kay Smith

Tamarra “Kay” (Schrum) Smith, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Camelot Nursing Center in Farmington, from complications of COPD. She was 77 years 10 months and 16 days old. She was Boxie and Velma Schrum’s youngest daughter. She has been reunited with her parents and her nieces; Andrea Crook and Shana Le Blanc; her beloved dogs, Mugs, Edie and Fluffy. Kay was of Baptist faith. 

She is survived by her four sons, Danny Wood, Jamie (Theresa) Wood, Joe (Cindy) Ketcherside, Ronnie (Jennifer) Smith; seven grandchildren; Jeremy and Kyle Wood, Maranda Short, Alexis, Maddy, Katie, and Eli Smith; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Randy Feeney and Joyce (Bill) Ames, along with several nieces and nephews.

Kay never met a stranger and enjoyed the company of many friends and family. She raised her four sons totally by herself and they all have successful lives. She worked full time at many places and retired from Metropolitan Engineering Company in Peverly, MO.  

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 11:00 am until service time of 12:00 pm at C. Z. Boyer & Son-Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Burial to follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery in Doe Run.
