Sue WhaleyThe walls of Sue and Rick Whaley's home are filled with photos: photos of their parents, siblings, children, and, of course, their four grandchildren they adore. Sue kept these photos as a celebration of her family and the many incredible people who filled her heart with love, happiness and memories. Now, the memory of her lives on.Karen Sue Whaley (formerly Graves) passed away Friday, April 18, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis. Her family was by her side the entire time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Nora (Harris) Graves. Sue, of Desloge, survived by her husband of 45 years, Eric Whaley, who cared for her when she was unable and whose love for her was infectious to anyone around; her four siblings, Gloria Graves, Joan McDaniel, Dickey Graves, and Ronnie Graves; her two daughters, Lisa Sisk (Jimmy) and Stephanie Thompson (Jerry), of whom she was incredibly proud; and her four grandchildren, Logan, Mackenzie, Eric and Justin. The photos lining the walls of the Whaleys' home tell a bigger story. Sue loved unconditionally and lived through those around her. She was a proud, thoughtful woman, and her pride shown brightly onto her loved ones, especially her children and grandchildren. Through the piano recitals, baseball games, graduations, Christmases, Thanksgiving dinners and any other occasion for family gatherings, she never missed a beat. Now, our hearts beat for her.Visitation will be Monday April 21, 2014 from 5 pm to 9 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral service will be Tuesday 1 pm in the chapel with Rev. Mark Moss officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or St. Judes Hospital.
