Shirley Ann Smith, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the age of 91 in Farmington, MO. She was born on Saturday, October 22, 1932, in Bonne Terre, MO to the late Hardy and Esther (Booher) McCord. Her loving husband of 58 years, Eddie Smith, also preceded her in death. In addition her siblings, Bill, Robert, Ferrell, Bud McCord and Mary Griffin; great-grandson, Matthew Pulliam; sons-in-law, David Pettus and Henry Lord also preceded her.
Shirley was a devoted homemaker who found joy in being an active member of her community. She dedicated her time to the Bonne Terre Fire Department, the Ladies Auxiliary, and served as a Girl Scout troop leader.
Shirley had a passion for embroidery, quilting, and old country music. Her warm spirit and friendly nature touched the lives of many who were fortunate enough to know her. She took pride in her role as a loving mother to her children, Terrie (Robert) Ludwig, Roberta Lord, and Rodney (Jeannie) Smith; grandchildren, Jeremey Pettus, Alana (Rusty) Pulliam, Andrea Pettus, Bryan Lord, Emily (Gary) Boyer, Katie (Chris) Korn; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre from 10:00 AM until the time of a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Little Vine Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to BackStoppers or Big River Fire Department.
