Shirley Smith, age 83, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at Parkland Hospital South. Born on October 23, 1941, in Lilbourn, Missouri, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elbert and Grace (Tracy) Pilger.
Shirley lived a simple life and was full of wisdom and advice, and she was not shy in giving it. She was known for her warm heart, which became a guiding light to those around her. An avid fan of soap operas, she found endless joy in the twists and turns of life depicted in "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful." Shirley cherished Westerns, the St. Louis Cardinals, but most of all her kids and grandchildren were her world.
For many years, Shirley enjoyed the thrill of the casino, where she embraced the excitement and camaraderie found in games of chance. However, as health challenges arose, she adapted her focus, finding contentment in simpler pleasures that life had to offer.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Kenneth Smith; one son in infancy, Darrell Tittle; granddaughter, Kristen Huber; and she was the last surviving child of 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
She was an adoring mother to her children, Travis (June) Tittle of DeSoto, Pam March and husband Jim of Leadington, Greg Tittle also of Leadington, Jeff (Ronda) Tittle, Kim Huber and husband Chris, both of Bonne Terre; the grandest of grandma’s to Josh, Jeffrey (Stephanie), David (MacKenzie), Shelby (Trevor), Jacob, Ashley, Katherine (Kaleb), Caleb (Konnor), Brent, Sabrina (Kyle), Valerie (Jake), Kristen, Alyssa, Tyler (Ciara), Gracie and Jace; great-grandma to Ella, Ivey, Everly, Landon, Maverick, Stella, Marlee-Rae, Neveah, Waylon, Emmitt, Haley, Cody, Elizabeth, Harper, Isabella, Ethan, Wyatt, Paisley, Madison, River, Rowan and Isaiah; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Pastor Michael Barton will be officiating.
