Shirley Belknap, 74 of Bismarck, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, June 3, 2012 after suffering a stroke on May 25.She was born September 28, 1937 in Roberts, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Helen Allen of Bismarck; sister Luana Birr of IL.; brother, James Allen of IL.; sister in-law, Shirley Ann Karll of Kirkwood, and her son Larry Dean Belknap of St. Charles. Shirley, along with her family, moved to Bismarck, MO in 1950.She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1955.In 1960, she married Marvin "Snapper" Belknap of Leadwood. The couple have been married for 52 years.Shirley served as a 4-H leader, drove a school bus for the Bismarck School District for 17 years, then later served another 25 years as a paraprofessional for the elementary school. Shirley is survived by her husband, Marvin "Snapper" Belknap; daughters, Vickie Belknap of Bismarck, Kimberly (Mrs. Michael) Hardy of Wappapello; brother, Michael Allen of Bismarck; sisters, Rilla Miller of St. Charles and Carol Moore of St. Charles; grandchildren, Chrystal Politte of Bismarck, Brandi Belknap of Bismarck, Allyn Belknap Rizo of Desloge, Jessica Hardy White of Sikeston, Tyler Hardy of Wappapello; six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM.The services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Johnny Miller officiating.Interment will follow atOdd Fellows Cemetery inBismarck.
