It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel T. Asher, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, on February 14, 2025, in Farmington. Samuel, known affectionately as “Sam” to those who knew him, Sam was born on August 10, 1945 to the late Ruby Campbell.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, His dedication to service was matched only by his commitment to his craft as a union carpenter. Sam was not just known for his skilled hands but for his generous heart. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with others, always ready with a smile, a laugh, or a helping hand. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his love for animals, particularly the cats he rescued and cared for so lovingly. Sam found great joy in socializing and reveling in good times, always ensuring that those around him felt welcomed and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Campbell; wife, Janet Asher, granddaughter, Summer Warren.
His legacy lives on through his family, which includes his sons Samuel “Todd” Asher, Jr. and Stephen "Tommy" Asher, his daughters, Samantha Cummings, Kelly Wyatt, Patricia O'Farrell, and Marie Hall; along with his cherished ten grandchildren, Chris Asher, Todd Asher, Skye Hall, Brittany Asher, Crystal Cummings, Allison Cooke, Mac Cerutti, Anthony White, Sierra Alexander and Laina O’Farrell; four great grandchildren, Autumn Cummings, Hayden Cummings, Adrien Cummings, and Everick Thornton; and sister, Kathy House. He leaves behind a tapestry of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.
The family will have a private celebration of Life at a later date. May Sam live in eternal peace. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
