Sally Griffith, 84, of Alton, formerly of Farmington, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Shepherd’s View Residential Care surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Sunday, January 8, 1933 in Wortham to the late Dave and Zida (Marler) Rasnic. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Griffith; brothers, Jesse Rasnic, Terry “Cub” Rasnic, and Ricky Rasnic; sisters, Joan Rasnic, Renee Graves, Cathy Rasnic, and Becky Barton.
Sally moved to St. Louis and worked at the Rawlings Factory. She met Walter B. Griffith and married on June 3, 1961 in Wortham at the Wortham Church of God. They lived in St. Louis and she worked for Southwestern Bell. While living in St. Louis Sally enjoyed it when her family came to visit or lived with them. She also enjoyed shopping at Northwest Plaza and other stores.
In 1998 when she retired, she and Walt moved to Farmington to be closer to her family. They enjoyed their grandchildren and watching West County Bulldog sporting events.
Sally is survived by two daughters, Kim O’Connor and husband Kevin of Kansas City and Kelley Orr and husband Dennis of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Kristin Burns and husband Tim, Kasey O’Conor and fiancé Laura Cain, Kaitlin O’Conor, Blake Orr and wife Rachel, Megan Rackley and husband Aaron; three great-grandchildren, Cinch, Hattie, and Lyla; brothers, Davey Rasnic and wife Marlene, Kenny Rasnic and wife Jane and Jeff Rasnic and wife Suzanne; sister Mary Ann Roney and husband Glen.
Visitation will be at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Bill Bond officiating. Interment will follow at the Leadwood Cemetery in Leadwood.
