Ruth Velma (Rasnic) Penberthy, 88, of Bridgeton, Missouri went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on April 8, 2015 in Bridgeton, Missouri. Ruth was born on September 28, 1926 in Wortham, Missouri to James and Delphia (Spears) Rasnic. Ruth married Gerald R. Penberthy of Leadwood, Missouri on January 16, 1943. Ruth was an accomplished seamstress and was skilled in sewing, dressmaking, quilting, crocheting, and doll making. She also loved basket weaving, cooking, traveling, camping, and bluegrass music. Most of all, she loved her family who were a source of great joy to her. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Lou Penberthy of Plano, Texas; son Gerald Lynn Penberthy and wife Barbara of Bailey, Colorado; son Reginald Lee Penberthy of Eolia, Missouri; son Steven Mark Penberthy and wife Marion of Maryland Heights, Missouri; sister Melba (Rasnic) McGee and husband Orville (Corky) of Mineral Point, Missouri; brother Edward (Bill) Rasnic and wife Fran of Perkinston, Mississippi; sister Ann (Rasnic) McCoy of Farmington, Missouri; brother Gale Rasnic and wife Ronda of Affton, Missouri; six grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Penberthy, father, James Rasnic, her mother Delphia (Spears) Rasnic, her brother Glendall Rasnic, brother Orvin Rasnic, brother James (Jay) Rasnic, brother Carl Rasnic, and sister Alma (Rasnic) Cain. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately at Leadwood Cemetery.
