Ruth Gilmer

Ruth Gilmer 87 of Fredericktown, formerly of Desloge, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown. She was born February 8, 1926 in Irondale. Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge and an Alumni of Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar. She enjoyed travelling, going to church, cooking, sewing, reading, and playing the piano.She was preceded in death by husband, Tony Gilmer; parents, Simon Lee and Ruby (Hardesty) Crump; sons, David Lee Gilmer and John Dale Gilmer; brother, Lee Golden Crump; and sisters, Marion Cole and Bernadine Hunt.Ruth is survived by children, Lou Ann (Mrs. Rick) Tesreau of Fredericktown, Paul Gilmer and wife Charma of Farmington; daughter in-law Eva Gilmer also of Farmington; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Jonathon, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Kyle and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Levi, Matt, Anna, Andrew, Macey, Peyton, and Cody; sisters, Mabel Young, Ina Fern Reese, and Jessie Sumpter.Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel with Pastor David McCutcheon officiating at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Big River Cemetery in Irondale. Memorials may be directed to Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Home in Fredericktown.
