Ronald “Ron” Gene Brewster, 80, of Leadwood, Missouri, passed away on May 25, 2024, at his home with his family at his side.
Ron was born on July 3, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Fielding and Edna (Withrow) Brewster.
Ron believed in living life to the fullest, love our God, his country, and family. He was a member of the Bismarck United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his time on earth, creating many lifelong memories with his family and friends. He enjoyed Blue Grass music and could play anything with strings. He used to fly airplanes and loved classic cars. He drove for Smith Transfer and over two million miles for Yellow Freight, Teamsters Local 600, and enjoyed seeing the country and became a history buff by delivering to various docks around the country. He loved his kids and especially the grandkids. He was known to be a human gps for his family if they ever got lost. They could call him anytime and just describe what they saw around them, and he would be able to know exactly where they were and could guide them home safely.
Ron served his country in the United States Navy. He also served his community as a firefighter for the Leadwood Fire Department and as a member and a Past Master of the Leadwood Masonic Lodge #598.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Lee Brewster; son-in-law, Timmy McCabe Sr.; and grandparents, Elmo “Wimpy” and Ruby Opaline Brewster.
He leaves behind four loving children, Evelyn (Paul) Miller, Ronald Brewster Jr., Amanda (Chad) Queen, and Theresa McCabe; nine grandchildren, Justine Miller, Steve McCabe, Timmy McCabe, Matthew McCabe, Darren, Miciah, Clayton, Colton, and Brandon; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
