Robert T. Edgar

Robert T. Edgar of Elvins, passed away on August 13, 2014 at Ashbrook Assisted Living in Farmington, at the age of 87. He was born on August 25, 1926 in Gumbo to the late Lawrence and Odessa (Ogle) Edgar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Anna Lee (Rosener) Edgar and second wife of 19 years, Melba (Knight) McCorey Edgar; daughter, Susan Kaye (Edgar) Lawson; step-daughter, Jeanie Pirtle; brothers, Leroy Edgar, Larry Edgar; one sister, Reba Thomas. He was employed and retired as a union carpenter and a farmer. Robert was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Park Hills, a member of the Mineral Area Elks #2583, and Desloge Eagles. His family will cherish his great sense of humor and loving heart. Robert is survived by his three sons, Steve (Jodie) Edgar of San Diego, CA, Donald Edgar of Desloge, Randy (Donna) Edgar of Park Hills; three daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Hagerty of Festus, Jeanne Forrester of Park Hills, and Tracy Edgar of Desloge; two step-daughters, Jan (Dale) Sundhausen of Park Hills, Mary Ann (Dennis) Allen of Bloomsdale; son-in-law Randy Lawson of Indiana; and step son-in-law, Donnie Pirtle of Bonne Terre; sister, Norma Whitt of Desloge; one brother, John (Sherry) Edgar of Desloge; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Bev Skaggs and Pam McGrael. He will be missed by all that knew him. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, August 15, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark S. Ebert officiating.
