Mr. Robert E. McWilliams passed away Oct. 27, 2002, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, at age 72 years & 18 days. Bob was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Farmington, to Emmett R. & Carrie Virginia 'Alexander' McWilliams. Also preceding were: his 1st wife, Lindra D. 'St. John' McWilliams; & 1 Sister, Evelyn Lee Vincel. Bob was: * a longtime member & deacon of Farmington 1st Baptist Church; * a Sunday School Teacher @ 1st Baptist for 45 years, the last dept. he taught was The Adult I Men's Class; * a US Air Force Veteran of The Korean War; * Bob started teaching History at Farmington High School in 1956; * he was the Boy's Basketball Coach 1956-64; * Assistant Girl's Volleyball Coach; * former Athletic Director; * Assistant High School Principal 1964-65; * became Administrative Assistant to Farmington Public Schools Supt. Ray Henry, in 1965 & remained in that position until his 1983 retirement; * Bob also served on the Farmington Public Library Board in his retirement. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His WIFE - Darlene 'Williams' McWilliams, of Farmington; DAUGHTERS: Gretchen 'Mrs. Casey' Mustion, Springfield, MO; Elizabeth & Lynne Detring, St. Louis, MO; SONS: David (& Laura) McWilliams, Parkville, MO; Randy (& Kelli) Detring, Tulsa, OK; 5 GRANDCHILDREN : Griffen Mustion, Katie McWilliams, Kyle, Tyler & Avery Detring. 4 Nephews, 3 Great-Nephews, 3 Great-Nieces. Also, many other Relatives & Friends. Visitation Tues., resuming Wed. 7 am, at TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL & funeral Wed., 11 am, Oct. 30, 2002, at Farmington 1st Baptist Church, with Dr. William C. Miller officiating. Graveside services Thurs., Oct. 31st, 2 pm, at Iconium Cemetery, Woodbury, Tennessee. Memorials may be given to: Farmington First Baptist Church.
