Robert Compton

Robert Compton, 87 of Desloge, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at his residence.He was born August 17, 1924 in Desloge.Robert was retired from Pea Ridge, loved Bluegrass music, and was a Mineral Area Bantam Club member.He raised award winning Bantam Chickens for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Bert and Levia (Beers) Compton, wife, Mary (Jenkins) Compton; brothers, Bert Compton Jr. and William "Bill" Compton; half brother, Clifford Gillam; daughter, Debbie Pettus; grandson, Drew Pettus. Robert is survived by daughters, Janice (Mrs. David) Lavrrar of Arnold and Patti (Mrs. Terry) McIntyre of Desloge; son in-law, Bob Pettus; five grandchildren, Justin (Annie) McIntyre, Lauren McIntyre, Tammy (Bob) Popielewski, Jennifer (Jordan) Freie, and Matt Pettus; five great grandchildren, Nick, Grace, Ben, Nolan, and Brody. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.The service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Desloge at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Eddie Bone and Pastor Stan Martin officiating.Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington.
