Robert Ray “Bob” Arenz, 89, of Ellisville passed away February 15, 2018. He was born June 8, 1928 in Bonne Terre to the late Rev. Ray and Adelphia (Thurman) Arenz. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine in infancy from his first marriage and one step-son, Richard Burton.
Bob served as a volunteer firefighter in Bonne Terre for 16 years during the 50’s and 60’s and served as secretary of the Ozark Firefighters Association for several years. Bob was an amateur magician and went by “Zarata” when performing at shows. Bob worked as an Assistant Vice President for Sachs Electric for 30 years. He went on to work as Vice President of Champion Electric, from which he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellisville.
Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine Arenz of Ellisville; five children from his first marriage to Dorothy (Richardson) Arenz, Robert Wayne Arenz and wife Nina of Hilliard, OH, Sharon Northcutt of Hattiesburg, MS, Dr. Nancy Weible and husband George Mars of Mobile, AL, Lisa Grider and husband Steve of Bismarck, MO, Douglas Arenz and wife Lori Adair of Fort Collins, CO; two step-children, Sue Liringis and husband Dean of Phoenix, AZ and Barry Burton and wife Carol of De Soto, MO; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren.
Funeral service and burial will be private under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society in honor of Bob. View obituary and share condolences online at www.www.czboyer.com
