Richard Odell Stanfill, Sr.

Richard Odell Stanfill, Sr., of Bonne Terre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on Sunday, March 10, 1940, in St. Louis, MO to the late Odell and Nettie Louise (Gamblin) Stanfill. Richard was a loyal member of the Mercy and Truth Fellowship Church in Bonne Terre. He found immense joy in his hobbies, from fishing to traveling, with his Alaskan trip holding a special place in his heart. A skilled hunter, particularly enjoying deer hunting, Richard also had a knack for playing cards and was known as a mischievous prankster, delighting in playing jokes on his beloved grandchildren.

In his earlier years, Richard worked as a machinist for Engel Industries and Ramsey Corporation before his retirement, at which point he transitioned into a career as a truck driver, a role that soon became his true passion.
 
Richard is survived by his devoted spouse, Phyllis Stanfill, who stood by his side through all of life's ups and downs. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Richard was also preceded in death by a son; Tracy Stanfill; siblings, Bob, Jerry Ronnie, Jim Terry and Gary Stanfill, Patricia, Brenda and Geraldine; grandchildren, Stephanie Stanfill, Benjamin and Trey.

Richard is survived by his loving his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Stanfill; children, Rick (Robin) Stanfill and Ronda (Kim Stake) Bauer; grandchildren, Justin (Casey) Stanfill, Jennifer (Christopher) Hayes, Faith Wall, Hope (Matt) Knutson; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Benji, Vicki, Jessie, Leilah, Gabriella, Carson, Gavin, Harper, Emma, Caston, Javin, Kinleigh, Easton and Emersyn; great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Dawson, Erilyn and Asher; siblings, Michael, Stanley, Linda Stanfill, and Joann Douglas; sister-in-law, Jeanette Stanfill, along with several nieces and nephews, brought him immense joy. He took great pride in their achievements and always made sure to express his love and support. In the wake of his passing, let us remember Richard's smile, his laughter, and the love he shared with those around him. May his spirit live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Richard Stanfill.

Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM until Service time of 12:00 PM Pastor Gary Stabenow and Pastor Randy Murphy to be officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery in Bonne Terre.
