Reginald Lee "Reggie" LaPlant

Reginald Lee “Reggie” LaPlant, 72, of Branson, MO passed away April 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 28, 1952, in Ironton, MO to the late Henry Franklin and Thora Pearl (West) LaPlant.

Reggie proudly served his country in the Missouri National Guard, US Army, and the Army Reserve.   He served with the Berlin Brigade, Berlin, Germany, while it was the only occupied city left in the world.  

Reggie was a member of the Preston County, WV Gideon International Camp, the American Legion Post #416 and VFW Post #5896 both of Farmington, MO.  Reggie was also a member of the Branson Gospel Hour Church.  He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and tending his plants, but mostly spending time with family, friends, and his granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Shelba LaPlant, special niece, and nephew, Rhonda Jean (LaPlant) Lapierre, and Chirstopher Kirkpatrick “Kirk” McDowell. 

Reggie is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Anna (McDowell) LaPlant whom he married on April 23, 1971, in Ironton, MO; an amazing son, Brian LaPlant and wife Angela; two granddaughters, Annabel and Bianca all of Springfield, VA.  He is also survived by his brother, Ronald and wife Phyllis LaPlant of Farmington, MO and a host of loving family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington from 9:30 AM until the time of the memorial service at Noon.  Interment will follow at Polk Cemetery in Arcadia, MO.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
