Raymond Wampler, 72 of Desloge passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 31, 1940 in Esther, MO. Ray served as music and youth minister at the First Baptist Church of Park Hills for many years. He also served in several area Baptist and Methodist churches in the same capacity throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Hattie (Rhodes) Wampler; two brothers, John M. Wampler and Harold "Fuzz" Wampler; sister, Marilyn Martin.Ray is survived by his wife, Rolinda Gay Wampler of Desloge; four children, Tracy Wampler of Park Hills, Chris Wampler of Park Hills, Cathy (Mrs. Josh) Hemmendinger of Park Hills, Sam Cook of Captain Cook, Hawaii; five grandsons, Brett, Sawyer and Ely Wampler, Wade and Lucas Hemmendinger; sister, Sandra (Mrs. Granville "Tut") Tullock; mother-in-law, Virginia Eaton. Two Sister-in-Laws, Vivian Wampler and Jodi Rabaduex. Ann (Short) Robart, the mother of his children also survives, along with a number of nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Park Hills. A Memorial Service will be held Monday at 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Park Hills with Rev. Dr. Josh Wilson, Rev. Jim Bruns and Rev. Dr. Bill Miller officiating. To honor Ray, any and all former orchestra musicians are asked to gather at the First Baptist Church of Park Hills Monday at 6:00 PM to practice before participating in the Memorial Service at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Park Hills.
