Phyllis Jean Jones

            Phyllis Jones, 80, of Bonne Terre, passed away February 14, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1936, in Terre Haute, IN to the late Ernest Raymond and Emily Selena (Whitecotten) Carrithers.

             She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Jones; sons, Michael, Ronald, and James Flanery; granddaughter, Anissa Turner; grandson, Jason Flanery; great-granddaughter, Katherine Dunivan; four brothers, Donald, Ernie Lee, Darrell and Richard Carrithers; half-brother, Harold Carrithers; three sisters, Catherine Carrithers, Doris Baysinger, and Patricia Jones. 

            Phyllis is survived by four daughters, Gail Ann Thomas and Kimberly Renee (Mrs. Kevin) Penberthy of Bonne Terre, Phyllis Jean (Mrs. David) Pogue of Farmington, and Shirley Jane (Chris Matthews) Bone of Irondale; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Janet) Carrithers; half-brother, Jerry Carrithers; sister, Helen Hammond; two half-sisters, Sharon Grubb and Debbie Stafford. 

            A memorial service will be held at Charity Missionary Baptist Fellowship Hall, 1324 Spruce St. in Bismarck, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Reverend Melvin Meade will be officiating. Inurnment will be held at Bismarck Masonic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge
