Phyllis Curtis

Phyllis Curtis, 98, of Bismarck, passed away May 19, 2024, at Camelot Nursing Center and Rehabilitation in Farmington.  She was born May 1, 1926, in Pacific, to the late Marion and Edna (Rawson) Baremore.   Phyllis was a member of Bismarck Assembly of God Church, until her health limited her time to attended.  She was a Deaconess at the church, a member of the women’s ministry group and the Singspirations.  This was a group that traveled to different nursing homes to entertain the residents at the home.  In her spare time, she enjoyed being a part of the Red Hat Society.

 Phyllis was a very intelligent lady and felt she was keeping her brain healthy by working crossword puzzels, doing logic problems, and cryptograms.  She was very good with numbers, knew morse code and Latin language.  Phyllis loved to knit and crochet.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Rev. William Hill; second husband, Warren Curtis; two daughters, Sharon Womble and husband Eugene, Diana Sue Hill; grandson, Timothy Womble; sister, Marilyn and husband William Paul; and granddaughter in-law, Susie Womble.

 

Phyllis is survived by grandchildren, Connie (Matt) Krause, Paul E. (Susie) Womble, Jr., Tammy (Bennie) Lucy, and Jeffery (Amy) Womble; great-grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Schwartz, Amanda Schwartz, Kortnee Willhite, Karley Willnite, Kody (Emily) Mullen, William Lucy, Nicole Womble, Ashton Womble, Lindsey Womble, Tyler (Cherisse) Stirts, Savannah Stirts, Jenna Thomas, Jordan (Kayla) Thomas, Josh Hart, Joey Hart and Jewel Hart; twelve great-great-grandchildren, Rachel Schwartz, Macie Schwartz, Alex Schwartz, Aria Sutton, Aden Sutton, Shon Tyler Stirts, Melody Stirts, Kimber Mahurin, Madilyn Mullen, Iyonna Otis, Layla Thomas and Sadie Thomas; three step children, Charles (Lynne) Curtis, Christopher Curtis and Michelle (Chris) McCarthy.   

 

A memorial visitation will be held at the Bismarck Assembly of God Church, Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.  Pastor Michael Barton will be officiating.  Memorials may be directed to the church in honor of Phyllis Curtis’s memory.  Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills.
