Pearl Cox, 87 of Bonne Terre, passed away January 24, 2018, at Scenic View Nursing Home in Herculaneum. She was born November 22, 1930, in Redford, to the late Earl Guy and Imo Doll (Chitwood) Pogue. Pearl was a member of the Esther Baptist Church and was very active, in earlier years, working several positions within the church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was known by all, as a very giving and caring person.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolla “Cooge” Cox; children, Donna Sue Cox, Terry Lou Weible, and Dixie Lynn Coker; brothers, Frank and Dave Pogue; and one sister, Bernice Pogue.
Pearl is survived by three children, Debra Cox, Tom Cox and wife Cindy, Kevin Cox and wife Terry; seven grandchildren, Brian Cox, Ben Weible, Geoff Coker, Deanna DeCoursey, Kim Hamilton, Elaine Lanham and Joe Cox; two step-grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Anthony Pogue and wife Joan, Mike Pogue and wife Julie, Yeula Hawn and husband Larry; son-in-law, David Coker; sister-in-law, Emily Pogue; many nieces, nephews and friends, also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Pastor Todd Buck will be officiating, with Pastor Joseph Lanham assisting. Interment will follow at Redford Memorial Cemetery in Redford. Memorials may be directed to the Esther Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association.
