Pat LaBruyere, 65 of Desloge, passed away at his residence, February 15, 2012.He was born August 10, 1946 in Flat River.Pat served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea.He later received his Masters Degree, which he used in the Public Schools as well as the Department of Corrections.Pat taught math for Central School District for 12 years and then became a counselor there for the next 18 years.He also taught at the Department of Corrections and was a counselor there for 8 additional years. He was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Bonne Terre, where he helped direct the choir for 2 years.A large part of his life was devoted to music, whether it was in a Barber Shop Quartet, Chautauqua Choir or the Church Choir, Pat loved singing. He is preceded in death by parents, Dennis Thomas LaBruyere and Ruth (Graf) LaBruyere McCorkle and step father, Marvin "Doc" McCorkle. Pat is survived by wife, Judy (Simmons) LaBruyere; sons, Evan (Cindy) LaBruyere and Joe (Heather) LaBruyere; grandchildren, Kaylin, Ian, Claudia, and Emilia LaBruyere, all of Desloge; brothers, Gary (Candy) LaBruyere of Farmington and Dennis LaBruyere of Park Hills. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, February 17, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.Visitation will resume Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Centenary United Methodist Church of Bonne Terre from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.The service will immediately follow with Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Centenary United Methodist Church or Diabetes Foundation.
