Pamela F. Friday, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 24, 2025, in Bonne Terre. Born on August 2, 1943, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Pamela was a grounding force in her community and a heartwarming presence in the lives of countless students and family members. Pamela dedicated her career to education, lovingly guiding first graders at House Springs School District, and later taught at North County School District. Her passion for teaching didn’t stop at retirement; she returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher and as an ISS teacher, always eager to support and uplift her students. Her enthusiasm for nurturing young minds was evident, and she approached each day with kindness, patience, and an unwavering commitment to her profession. Pamela was more than a teacher; she was a true bookworm. There wasn’t a literary gem she missed, and she loved sharing her latest reads with friends and family. Her love for education extended beyond the classroom as she enjoyed discussing literature and sparking curiosity in others. She also had a huge heart for animals, especially cows, a passion that traced back to her farm upbringing. Her love for the outdoors shone brightly in her earlier years, where she found joy in boating and skiing. A true sports enthusiast, Pamela was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. When she wasn’t watching or cheering for a ball game, she found joy in shopping trips, friendly rounds of bingo, and spirited evenings of bowling, always looking for ways to connect with those around her.
She is now reunited in death by her parents, Edmund and Dorothy (Holmes) Friday; brother, Dwight Friday. Pamela is survived by her sister, Melinda Smith and husband John; brother, Michael D. Friday and wife Donna; beloved niece, Tina Collins, nephew, Randy Collins Singer; great nieces, Justine “Gus” Copeland and husband Alix and Kaysee Collins. Pamela’s furbaby, Tank, also held a special place in her heart, offering companionship and comfort through all of life's moments. While we gather to mourn the loss of an extraordinary woman, we will also celebrate the joy she brought to our lives. As we say goodbye to Pamela, we cherish the laughter, lessons, and love she shared with us. She will always be remembered as a beacon of light, compassion, and kindness. Let us carry her spirit forward in our hearts, ensuring that her legacy of love and learning endures. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
