Mrs. Opal Alene Counts passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 18, 2001, at Parkland Health Center, South, in Farmington, at the age of 87 years & 14 days. She was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Ste. Genevieve County, MO., to Edward & Etta 'Wampler' Bloom. Also preceding in death were: 4 Sisters: Audie Branon; Mae Thomure; Elsie Miller & Stella Bloom (in-childhood); 3 Brothers: Louis; Virgil & John Bloom. 2 Sons-In-Law, Earl Miller & Brente Ward; 1 Grandson, Matthew Counts. Opal was retired from the Rice-Stix Shirt Factory in Farmington. Opal & Anderson "A.D." Counts were united in marriage on August 25, 1930. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Her HUSBAND: Anderson "A.D." Counts, Farmington. DAUGHTERS: Shirley 'Mrs. Ronald' Dugal, Bonne Terre; Barbara Miller Ward, Farmington; Carolyn 'Mrs. Joe' Stocker, Farmington; SONS: Archie (& Roberta) Counts, St. Charles, Missouri; Gary (& Mary) Counts, Green River, Wyoming; Mike (& Linda) Counts, Farmington; BROTHER: Elmer (& Inez) Bloom, Bonne Terre; 17 Grandchildren & 28 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 19th 5-9 pm, resuming Saturday @ 7 am. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 am, Oct. 20th at TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, Farmington, with Rev. Donald Stanley officiating. Interment following in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County. Memorials to: * Chestnut Ridge Cemetery Maintenance Fund.
