Norman Culton, 76, of Bonne Terre passed away May 5, 2014. He was born August 31, 1937 in Flat River. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Bonne Terre. Norman was a retired veteran that proudly served his
country in the United States Navy. He was a Life member of the D.A.V. and
charter member of the Mineral Area Elks. Norman worked as a St. Francois County
Deputy Sheriff where he was primarily in charge of the jail. After his
retirement as a Deputy he worked in his own home construction business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and
Myrtle (Pyatt) Culton; daughter in infancy, Robyn Ann Culton; granddaughter,
Rikki Lea Culton; brother, Frank Culton; sister, Doris Earline Plummer.Norman is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth
(Sherman) Culton; three children, Ricky Lee Culton, Kevin Earl Culton and wife
Sheila, Dawn Renee Warren and husband Carl; six grandchildren, Amy Dugal
(Josh), Jayson Hambrick (Lena), Wendy Henson (Chris), Kevin Murdock, Colby
Murdock, Travis Culton; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Clara Cash,
Barbara Cook (Earnie), Janet Layne, Brenda Bloom (James), Mary Stotler (Ray)
who was raised in the home like a daughter; brother-in-law, Charlie Plummer,
sisters-in-law, Madonna Culton and Pat Bess. Numerous nieces, nephews and
friends also survive. Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4:00
PM until 9:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with
a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11:00 AM at St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with Rev. Bill Baier officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with full Military Honors.
