Mrs. Nina Lucille ‘Ransom’ Kennon, 98, passed away April 15, 2018, at Camelot Nursing Center, Farmington.  Nina was born February 27, 1920, in St. Francois County, and was the daughter of Oscar Ransom and Beatrice ‘Weible’ Ransom-Clayborne.  Also preceding in death were: her husband, Luther Earl Kennon (1992); sisters, Susie, Wilma, Virginia, Mary, Faye & Betty. Son-in-laws, Donald King, Col. Gore Roberts and Bill Lix.

 

Nina was a member of Farmington First Assembly of God Church since 1950.  She was a master quilter and was an excellent cook and baker.  She loved tending to her rose garden, vegetable garden & canning. Her favorite pastime was playing Skip-bo.

 

Survivors include: three daughters, Marilyn R. King, Margaret Roberts and Joyce Lix.  Four grandchildren: Steve King, Stanley King, Rev. David Lix and Dennis Lix. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren: Raymond King, Matthew King, William Cody King, Lauren King, Nathan Lix, Lydia Lix and Megan Lix; three great-great-grandchildren.  One sister, Doris Denison and one brother, Robert Clayborne.

  

Visitation Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home - Taylor Chapel, Farmington.  Visitation resumes Thursday, 6:30 a.m. until funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Chapel, with Rev. David Lix officiating.
