Nicci Dement

Nicolle “Nicci” Linnet Dement, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at her residence in Desloge. Nicci was born on Sunday, July 17, 1966, in St. Louis to the late John and Willa (Black) Wood. 

Nicci dedicated her life to caring for children, owning and operating Playmates Daycare in Park Hills for 28 years. Nicci was an advocate for early childhood education and firmly believed that all children deserve a fair start to their schooling. Countless children left her daycare being fully prepared for kindergarten due to Nicci’s love and nurturing. 

Nicci found great joy in the simple things of life-freshly baked sweets, a homemade meal, crafting, cuddling with her four cats and spending time with her loved ones.

 She is survived by her loving husband of five years, Shane Dement; beloved daughter, Mariah Bollinger and husband Dan; cherished granddaughter, Rowyn Bollinger and sister Katherine Kemper along with other family and friends.

Per Nicci’s wishes no services will be held. Memorial donations to honor Nicci’s life can be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Agency in Farmington. Nicci’s ashes will be inurned at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
