Mitchell Johnson

     Mitchell “Rocky” Earl Johnson, age 77, of Desloge, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on April 9, 1945, in Grassy, Missouri to the late Samuel Earl and Viola May (Brees) Johnson.

     Rocky was a career ironworker, with 58 years of dedicated service to Ironworkers Local Union 396. He spent the last 17 years before retirement as business agent for the local union. He also served as a member of the Missouri State House of Representatives for District 107. He enjoyed telling stories, fishing, hunting, gardening, and being with family.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons Keith Johnson and Earnie Bowen; siblings Opal Collins, Alene Masters, and Hazel Davis.

     Rocky is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Alice (Ward) Johnson; children, Tippi Seals and husband Jon, Holly Holliday and husband Jerry, Mitch K. Johnson and wife Patti, Mitch C. Johnson, Darin Johnson and wife Mallory, Rick Johnson, Ray Bowen, Elaine Parks and husband Todd, Trent Eric Bowen (Dora Giboney); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren he loved dearly; sister, Juanita Wyant; special sister-in-law, Jean Nation and husband Jack; brother-in-law, Oliver Davis, along with many other family and friends.

     Friends are welcome to Celebrate Rocky’s life on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Memorials can be directed to Shriners Children’s Hospital. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
