Milburn L. Schrum

            Milburn L. “Boxie” Schrum, 93, of Bismarck, passed away July 5, 2016 at Parkland Health Center. He was born May 27, 1923, in Desloge, to the late Grover and Flora (Tiefenauer) Schrum. Milburn was employed for 41 years at Doe Run Company. He loved to play bass fiddle, and guitar in the local area dance bands.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ola Gilliam; six brothers, Otto, Charles, Elza, Arvel, Leslie, and Paul Schrum.

 Milburn is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Velma (Vance) Schrum; three daughters, Randy (Mrs. Larry) Feeney, Joyce (Mrs. William) Ames, and Tamarra Kay Smith; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

 Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, July 7, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg McCord officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
