Michael Benoist

           Mike Benoist, 71, of Frankclay, passed away May 30, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He was born March 5, 1947, in Frankclay, to the late Thomas and Imogene (Mayberry) Benoist. Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge. Mr. Benoist proudly served his country with the Army from 1971 to 1975. Following that service he became an active member of the D.A.V. Chapter 12 in Farmington. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping. Mike was a volunteer for Serenity Hospice for 15 years.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James and Thomas “Tater” Benoist, and Bobby Benoist in infancy; one sister, Barbara Linderman.

            Mike is survived by his wife, Mary Helen (Rolens) Wisdom-Benoist; two step-sons, David Wisdom and wife Jerri, Richard Wisdom and wife Krystal; granddaughter, Avery Wisdom; two step-grandsons, Matthew and Zachary Wheelis; brother, Joe and wife Karen; half-sister, Vera Brown and husband Adam; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, June 1, 2018, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bradford Laubinger officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Frankclay. Memorials may be directed to the Family Ministry Center at the First Baptist Church of Desloge.
