Melvin M. Gibson

Melvin Gibson, 81, of Bonne Terre passed away October 20, 2016 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis. He was born June 15, 1935 in Washington County, MO. Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed spending his time outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Olen Gibson and Laura (Owens) Boyd; wife, Loretta Mae (Simpson) Gibson; two brothers, Olen Gibson and Leon Gibson; three sisters, Ida Combs, Lilly Benson and Laura Robinette.

Melvin is survived by four children, Mike Gibson, Brian Gibson and wife Stefanie, Darren Gibson and wife Lana, Amanda Radetic and husband Jacob; nine grandchildren, John, Jamie, Laura, Cayden, Riley, Devona, Halee, Bobby and Erin; three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Cobe and Emmie; three brothers, Donald Gibson, Alvin Gibson and Paul Politte; two sisters, Marilyn Skaggs and Dee Kitchell.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre with Brother Ron Brand officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
