Marvin L. Wilson

Marvin "Willy" Lee Wilson, 83 of Terre Du Lac passed away November 23, 2010. He was born March 28, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years where he spent most of his time as a submariner and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After the Navy he worked in the oil industry for 10 years. He then worked for 13 years with the Department of Defense, retiring as Chief Engineer Officer. He was a member of the Bonne Terre V.F.W. Post 6883, Mineral Area Elks Lodge #2583 and a lifetime member of Fleet Reserve. Willy enjoyed spending the winter months in Texas.He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Goldie (Courtner) Wilson; granddaughter, Kim Kreber; sister, Donita McClure; brothers, Donny and Orvil Wilson. Willy is survived by his wife, Sharon (Derr) Wilson; children, Pam (Mrs. Michael) Clancy of CA, Patty Knight of Terre Du Lac, Michael Wilson of Terre Du Lac, Mark Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, Lori Lee Wilson and Tim Thomas of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren, Michael Mahan, Shawn Clancy, Monica Gottula, Nicole Emfinger, Michael Pratte Wilson, Michael Shonn Clancy, Heather Williams, Molli Wilson, Kylie Wilson; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Penny DeFriese; sister-in-law, Willa Wilson.Visitation will be Saturday, November 27 from Noon until 1 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 1 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with full military honors. Rev. John Schneider officiating.
