Martha L. Lance

Martha Laryne Lance, formerly of Iron Mountain Lake, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on February 25, 2025, in New Castle, Indiana. Born on November 16, 1938, Martha lived a life marked by love for her family and a passion for the little joys that filled her days.

 Martha was a woman of many pastimes. An avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast, she also took immense pleasure in tending to her vibrant flower beds, filling her home with beauty and life. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence E. and Ruth (Zimmerli) Moe; husband, Doyle Lance and son Michael Lance. Martha will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

 In her earlier days, Martha and her late husband, Doyle, shared countless memories on bowling leagues, where their laughter and teamwork carved out a unique bond that radiated through the years. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Darleen Hayworth and husband Robert Hayworth, son, James Lance and wife Mona; six grandchildren, Leslie, Jeremy, Ian, Shaun, Lisa, and Joey; along with ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; brother, David Moe and wife Michele; along with several nieces and nephews. Her family was her inspiration and her greatest joy.

 A private family entombment will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery in Bonne Terre. As we reflect on the warmth she brought into our lives; we find comfort in shared memories and the love that will continue to bloom like the flowers she adored.
