Margerite Helen Hodges

            Margerite Hodges, 94 of Desloge, passed away May 14, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 16, 1922, in Gumbo, to the late Charles Wheeler and Arizona Belle (Barton) Brannam. Margerite was a member of the Doe Run First Baptist Church.  

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Hansford H. Hodges; two sons, Earl Wayne and Kenneth Hale Hodges; four brothers, Bill, Bud, Lester and Charles Brannam, Jr.; three sisters, Flora Stillman, Ruby Bradley, and Naomi Carver.

             Margerite is survived by six children, Gladys June Ramirez of CA, William Edward Hodges of Farmington, John Stephen Hodges and wife Barbara of DeSoto, Ronald Eugene Hodges and wife Christine of Wentzville, Jeffrey Owen Hodges of St. Louis, and Aaron Lee Hodges of Desloge; twenty grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Brannam; daughters-in-law, Diana (Bill) Huckstep and Charlotte Hodges; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. 

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor John and Chad Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church in Doe Run or The ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter, 2258 Weldon Parkway - St. Louis, MO 63146
