          Margaret "Marge" Lea (Ransom) Watts passed away October 13, 2022, at NHC Healthcare in Desloge at the age of 95. Marge was born August 27, 1927, in St. Louis, MO to John and Ruby (Ball) Ransom, the eldest of nine siblings. She grew up and attended school in Esther. She married William “Bill” Watts on November 23, 1946.Marge and Bill made their home in St. Charles where she was employed with the Federal Government from February 1947 until her retirement in May 1974 as an Employee Relations Specialist. Upon retirement, Bill and Marge moved to a country club development in Sparta, Il. to enjoy their shared love of golf.

          Through her married years and continuing after Bill’s death, Marge enjoyed entertaining, bowling, golfing, Cardinals baseball, playing cards, reading and traveling as well as being a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was an attentive caretaker to her parents and her brother Caree during his battle with cancer and essentially the center of the large Ransom family.

          In addition to her loving husband Bill, Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers John, Jimmy, Donald Caree, and Larry Ransom, brother-in-law Don Sherrill and sister-in-law Mary Ransom.

          Marge is survived by her sisters Charlotte and husband Ray Hall, Phyllis Sherrill, Diana Sue and husband Richard Bess, and her brother, Mike and wife Lorene Ransom, sisters-in-law Madonna Ransom and Bonnie Ransom. Marge will also be remembered with love and laughter by many nieces and nephews as well as their families.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 beginning at noon followed by funeral service at 2:30 pm. Reverend Dave Duncan will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Garden in Farmington. In honor of her brother Caree, memorials may be directed to Project Purple.
